Performance in América
Festive Devils
This project involves a completed book collaboration, web site and several conference events with two other editors and eleven contributing authors on the role of the festive devil in popular performance in the Americas. The research finds that the festive devil is one of the iconic roles recurrent throughout the Americas that, among other things, offers a model for coping with Manicheanism and the religious imposition of pure evil.
